Porcelain Veneers
Imagine a new smile that is straight, white and exactly the way you want it. If you want a smile makeover that can happen in just a few weeks or less, porcelain veneers are the solution. Cosmetic dental veneers can hide most dental flaws and create a new smile in one or two visits to a cosmetic dentist. If you want a smile makeover with porcelain veneers, come see Dr. Arjun Parikh at Johns Creek Dental Studio in Alpharetta, GA.
Veneers are thin shells that fit over the front of teeth to create the desired look for your smile. While veneers can be made from ceramic or plastic, the most desirable material is porcelain due to its durability, stain resistance and natural tooth appearance. Porcelain veneers create a new exterior to your smile, and they can hide stains, crooked/overlapped teeth, gaps and other flaws. In a few weeks, you can have the smile you always wanted with a porcelain veneer smile makeover.
Cosmetic Dental Veneers
To create a new smile with cosmetic dental veneers, Dr. Parikh will digitally design a new look. You can see what your smile will look like before we order your veneers. Once the shape and look of your new smile are determined, an impression of your teeth is needed. This “mold” is made to create customized veneer porcelain shells that will fit perfectly on each tooth.
For porcelain veneers to be added to your teeth, a thin layer of enamel is removed. This is necessary for the veneers to fit correctly and look natural. The enamel is removed, and the surface is etched or roughened to allow for bonding the veneers to your teeth. Once the veneers are created in the dental lab, they are affixed to your teeth and your new smile is in place.
Porcelain veneers look natural and can resist staining better than natural tooth enamel. If maintained, veneers can last up to 15 years before they need to be replaced. It is a gorgeous way to give your smile a makeover and achieve the perfect pearly whites.
